As "where are you going now" plays on my headset...I begin tonight's Blog... ...I can say I am going Forward into True Patriotism. and what that stands for... Now for an even more touchy subject... Freedom of Speech... It is the Fundamental Principle this Country was based on... That is Why it is First. ...and for anyone to shut down The Free Speech of American Patriotism, is committing an Act of Treason according to how our Founding Fathers wrote our Laws...You take these Fundamental Rights away...and The Heart of America, Dies. Wake Up and take a look around yourselves...and ask yourself the words of a Great Master ... "where am I going now?" Enjoy tonight's images...I enjoyed Creating them...

	As "Leather and Lace" plays on my headset tonight...I begin writing this blog... Today was kinda a hard day for me, and we all have them... I am not getting the studio time I wanted, and that's ok...because it has to be today... I did start working out the skyline and the background the overlay sketch does not show the wings completed...they will be when She is complete on this canvas...

I am going step more into the Art Process in this blog now... I have been working out my vision by working it out on canvas...because paint is naturally my favorite medium, I sketch out/work out my concepts with paint...as much as I do with pencil... When this idea first came to me immediately following 9/11...I saw it as the image from then... as I put that image on canvas, I thought about the fact that we are healing, and it isn't a gaping hole anymore... We have the freedom tower... which is ironic since we are currently debating our freedoms and liberties in this country in a way that actually takes the Founding Values of Our Rights and Liberties Away, If allowed to continue in the direction we are headed, and if some in control get their way... Back to our painting... I had started the painting with that level of direction, (meaning when it happened)...as I truly looked deeply into the image I saw, both in my head and on Canvas the truth of today, I then adapted my concept to the direction of our future by what is going on through the healing of OUR Nation...By the rebuilding of our Country. I also see in this painting the Image of the Pentagon Rebuilt in the Landscape representing OUR Purple Mountains Majesty, and a Field in Pennsylvania...and the Economic Future and Rebuilding of OUR Great City of Commerce by The Freedom Tower and it's adjacent Concourses...on the Island of Manhattan, in the State of New York, USA... as the Statue of Liberty looks on while OUR Spirit fly's OUR Flag of Freedom, as OUR Spirit makes those Responsible held Accountable in the Eye's of more than 80% of OUR Citizen's God...Because killing innocents for an act of War on this Level is Accountable by Spirit. Regardless of how one walks their Path in Physical Life, or the Religion they practice. The black smoke will engulfs them as they Answer in Spirit for their Crimes against Humanity by what They brought upon OUR NATION, by this act of WAR. Now you know my focus, and the purpose for this Art. and It's role in OUR World.

As "Free Four" plays on my headset...I am working out what I need to say today... I decided that I wanted to represent the three locations that were affected that day, and since I am an artist and I use artistic licence ...that is what I am doing... The Pentagon sits on the Hill behind the Field in Pennsylvania they are nestled between fields of green and purple mountains majesty representing our Great Nation... Since this fight belongs to our entire Nation...I am representing what I can through traditional images by words we know by heart, since this is OUR Home... I will write more later, as my day goes forward... Enjoy...

I wanted to share with you an image of me actually working. I am focused on translating the image I see in my mind to canvas now. I do use photographs, and will give the photographers full credit for the inspiring imagery I used for this work...and I am translating this to the canvas in a true eye/hand manner, I am not projecting it, nor am I tracing it...I am using my skills, as I was taught by my work, and practice. ...and if you look closely you will see my husband Rusty taking the picture reflected in the mirror in the top left of this picture My words in this blog may become more limited, because I am now fully in my process...and no longer involved in the process of the concept... so basically what I am saying is: I'm tired of talking, and I am fully at work now...Enjoy...

I have to be honest with you, I am ready to paint the Eagle, and I still have background to do...so I will finish my background first...It is how I work... and in the interim I have re-drawn Our Flag and how it is being presented...the actual painting will have a larger flag...this drawing is a representation of the flag...I will make it fit correctly, and show our Flag Proudly as it should be... As I stated before, this is a process...I develop a concept and work it out, sometimes through drawing...sometimes directly on the canvas...as I am showing through this site, and my work. Today I want to go into more about the importance to me to get the city right...the quality of the photos is not translating the amount of detail I am actually working in, which is increasing my level of time. Last night after spending several hours working to get the correct perspective I noticed that the large dock on the left side was about 3 inches too high up on the painting and it threw off my perspective coming forward...since it's only paint to me... ...I repainted that area and have been working today to redirect my perspective. The skyline of a city is very important to the people who interact with it on a daily basis. I know because I have lived in cities and the buildings take on lives of their own by how they affect the people who live and work in them... since this painting is focused on our rising above the destruction of architecture and moving forward to a new direction through the creation of the Freedom Tower and concourse...it is important to me to be as accurate as possible while still being stylized in my unique way... Just as it would be important to me painting a mountain range with accuracy if it was meant to truly represent an actual location...it is important to me to do the same with this focused area of this painting. ...afterall, I included the trees in the courtyard of The Pentagon...and once I have painted Lady Liberty looking on, I will make sure the number of benches representing a field in Pennsylvania is accurate as well...since they are the memorial. again, thank you for your interest in this process for me...I value your support.

This is the appropriate use of a well placed F***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had my phone in my pocket... ...as I stood up while working on the wings, it fell out...my right hand (complete with brush) got caught on my headset wire, and my left hand had my pallet...the phone landed square on the mark in my brush water... It was classic "Lucy," and well worth a well placed F***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It truly was a kodak moment...too bad no one was there to see it except my cat who got wet with the splash from my phone and shot outa my room like a bat outa hell... I am posting this because I know several people are wondering why I haven't uploaded anything on the painting... (btw...I can use my old phone, so I am not without, and will still be able to send the images to the site...no worries... ...coming out of the show, it was imperative for my family, and my sanity that I clean my home... I have spent the last two days working on my home...kinda like it was with my studio early on in this process... ...to add to that, I was struggling with the wings, and it took me communing with a hawk today while I was on a walk with my daughter to see what I needed to see, so I could get the wings right...as I was directed to see, by both comments from previous posts and my ability to see as I watched the movement and spirit of flight. what I realized is that I had The Eagle flying forward while he is pulling the flag backwards... I had to curve the wings correctly... and now I have, and it took stepping away to allow my eyes to see it from a fresh perspective, and clearer focus. ...so that is/was the journey/journeys I have been working through the last several days through the process and soon to be completion of this painting... thank you for sharing it with me,this process and painting is a worthy challange and one I grateful of.
